About ARMEX EQUIPMENT
Armex Equipment was born in the field β
not in a boardroom.

OUR ORIGINS
Our journey began in 2011 in the mining sector, working hands-on in crushing and screening operations. Starting with a dream and a tight budget, buying international name brands simply wasnβt an option. So we did what determined operators do β we engineered our own solutions.
We designed, built and refined our own crushing and screening plants from the ground up.
Over the years, we didnβt just manufacture equipment β we operated it. We repaired it. We improved it. We learned what survives harsh conditions and what doesnβt. We experienced breakdowns, delays, and the frustration of waiting for specialists while production stood still.
In processing, time is money β and downtime is expensive.
That experience shaped who we are today.
Armex Equipment is built on practical knowledge gained in real production environments. We understand vibration, load stress, material flow, wear patterns and the realities of remote operations. Every structure is carefully considered. Every component has a purpose. Our equipment is engineered to be robust, serviceable, and dependable under demanding conditions.
Processing plant costs have escalated significantly since 2011. Many operations are forced to choose between high capital expenditure or compromising on quality. We believe reliable equipment should not be reserved for large capital budgets only.
Our mission is simple:
To deliver robust, intelligently engineered crushing and screening solutions that are built for tough environments β without the inflated price tag.
We focus on:
Practical engineering
Strong structural design
Ease of maintenance
Reduced downtime
Affordable long-term ownership
Every machine we build is guided by one principle:
Would we run this in our own plant?
If the answer is no, it doesnβt leave our workshop.
Meet Our Founder
In this video, ARMEX Equipment founder and lead designer, Willem Botha, breaks down how we solve the most pressing challenges in the material handling industry: parts availability and complex maintenance. Willem thrives on the creative process and the satisfaction that comes from hands-on problem-solving. When a local client in George faced severe downtime due to a lack of readily available parts for their imported mobile machine, ARMEX stepped in.
We engineered a custom electrical screening plant that not only restored their production certainty but also integrated solar power to keep their running costs to a minimum. While imported machinery often relies on complex electronics and incurs massive delays waiting for overseas shipping, ARMEX believes in pragmatic innovation. All our steel and custom parts are manufactured directly at our factory in George.
More importantly, we deliberately design our equipment using standard, universal components like bearings and gearboxes that are easily sourceable nationwide. With 12 years of deep experience in the mining sector, we build machines to an international standard right here in South Africa, keeping things robust and incredibly simple to maintain. Our mobile and stationary equipment is designed to be highly adaptable, ensuring it scales alongside your operational needs. Reach out for a free quote today!
